Latrell Mitchell might be busy back in his hometown of Taree helping fight fires ravaging the region, but that hasn’t stopped NRL clubs from trying to get his signature.

The Roosters star is reportedly set to exit the Bondi footy club, and the Wests Tigers are going to extreme lengths to woo him.

According to News Corp, Tigers coach Michael Maguire, club chief Justin Pascoe and general manager Adam Hartigan will be in Taree on Friday to meet with Mitchell.

There the trio will attempt to attract Mitchell to a move to Leichhardt, and importantly, convince his family too that it’s the right decision for the 22-year-old NRL star.

The report claims that the Tigers are able to offer Mitchell $1 million a season, easily beating the revised Roosters proposal of $800,000 a year.

In Taree, Mitchell has been doing his bit to help the community which has suffered from the recent NSW bushfires.

It’s terrible, the fire is just there. I’m doing my part, helping the cattle out,” Mitchell said.

“Mother nature needs to look at us. We need to have a good think about ourselves as well. We need to start backburning when we’ve got the chance, otherwise this is going to keep happening.

“It’s crazy, it’s sad. People lose their houses. Farmers work really hard. It’s devastating.

“Stay safe, make sure you’ve got a fire plan and get out and get your family right.”
